MOVE TO RUNALIO

Moving from GoDaddy.

Updated 30 September 2026. Builders change their menus often; if a step looks different, use the linked help article.

This guide covers the GoDaddy Websites + Marketing builder and notes where the newer Airo AI Builder differs. GoDaddy documents no export for Websites + Marketing sites, so plan to copy your text and images from the live site.

Before you start

  • Keep your GoDaddy site published while you copy it. Unpublishing shows visitors a “Coming Soon” page.
  • If your website plan came in a bundle with your domain, cancelling the bundle cancels the domain too. Check Renewals and Billing → Manage Subscriptions first.
  • Your email (Microsoft 365 or Professional Email) is a separate product. Keep it active.

Save your pages and images

  1. List your pages: Websites + Marketing → Manage → Edit Website. The page list is in the site navigation panel.
  2. Open each live page and copy its text into a document, including your privacy policy and terms.
  3. Save your images from the live pages (right-click → Save image as), or use your original photo files if you still have them.
  4. Store products: Commerce → Products → select all → Export → Export → Okay. A .csv file downloads.
  5. Airo AI Builder sites: open the app or site → Settings → Download Project → Download to get a ZIP file. Do this before you downgrade or cancel.

Save your contacts and form messages

  • Contact-form messages go to the address in the form’s Send Message To field, and to the Conversations inbox (Conversations → Inbox). GoDaddy documents no export, so keep the emails and save any important conversations before you cancel.
  • Your contacts are under Customers → All. GoDaddy’s help doesn’t document an export. If you don’t see one, ask a GoDaddy Guide for a CSV, or copy contacts into a spreadsheet along with whether they agreed to marketing emails.

Store, blog and bookings

  • Orders: Commerce → Orders → select the orders → Print, then save as PDF from your browser. GoDaddy documents printing, not a CSV download.
  • Blog posts and appointments have no documented export. Copy the posts, and list your services and upcoming bookings (Appointments → Calendar).
  • Source store and booking backends do not migrate automatically. Keep these records while the required integrations are rebuilt.

Recreate your site in Runalio

  1. Sign in at portal.runalio.com. Choose the correct website in the website selector. The portal opens in your business dashboard. Choose Design space to chat with your coding agent.
  2. Save the business name, contact details, services and prices in Business details and Services. These manual changes do not use AI tokens.
  3. Use Import Website for a public URL you have permission to reuse, then choose pages and inspect the report. Importing replaces the working design while preserving the live site. Or use Add content to upload your text, brand guidelines, photos or video, or paste written content. Files appear in the Asset gallery; attach the relevant files to the chat.
  4. Ask the agent to recreate the site using those files. Messages can contain up to 12,000 characters. For example: “Rebuild our cookie shop from this brief and these photos. Add About and Contact pages, use light blue and cream, and keep these exact prices.”
  5. Review the actual website preview beside the chat. Use Desktop and Mobile preview, and expand the design space for more room. Ask for color, layout, wording or page changes. AI requests count toward the account’s shared monthly token allowance.
  6. Test images, links, forms and any order or payment integration. Verify every price, claim, contact detail and required privacy notice.
  7. Click Publish website for the reviewed version. Draft changes remain private until publication. Test the public site and send a sample inquiry.

Keep independent copies of your exports. Generated content can contain mistakes, and builder-specific forms or store backends do not move automatically. Do not upload passwords, secret keys or payment card information.

Your domain

  • Your DNS is under Domain Portfolio → your domain → DNS. Save a copy first: DNS → Actions → Export Zone File.
  • Forwarding to your Runalio address: GoDaddy’s domain forwarding can send your whole domain to one address with a permanent (301) redirect. Forwarding locks the @ A record while it’s on.
  • Transferring the domain: Domain Settings → Transfer to Another Registrar, then follow the checklist to get the authorization code. GoDaddy unlocks the domain and turns Domain Privacy off, and sends the code to the domain’s Registrant email. Transfers aren’t possible for 60 days after registration or a transfer (120 days for bundle domains).
  • Bundle domains: don’t just cancel the bundle. A cancelled bundle domain can be recovered within 60 days as a standalone domain, which you can then keep or transfer.

Your email

  • Copy your email records exactly from Email & Office Dashboard → Manage → Set Mail Destination. For Microsoft 365 that’s the MX record, the autodiscover CNAME, the SPF TXT record, the MS= verification TXT, and any DKIM and DMARC records. For Professional Email (Titan) it’s the two MX records and the SPF TXT record.
  • Leave these records untouched when you change website records or set up forwarding. Send and receive a test email after every DNS change.
  • Moving Microsoft 365 away from GoDaddy is a separate project handled by a GoDaddy Guide, and it can’t be reversed.

Cancel your old plan safely

  1. Cancel the website plan last: Renewals and Billing → Manage Subscriptions → Websites + Marketing → Cancel Plan → choose a reason → Continue to Cancel → Confirm Cancel. You can use the site until the date shown. After that, GoDaddy deletes the product and its data.
  2. If you use a Conversations business phone number, port it out before cancelling. Download your GoDaddy Payments reports and finish any refunds before that account is closed.
  3. Don’t cancel your domain or email by accident; they’re separate products, except in bundles.
  4. Check GoDaddy’s current refund policy before you cancel.
